On Monday, October 19, when the “Bettara Market”—a fall tradition in Nihonbashi—takes place, we will hold the first installment of the special event “Carrying On the Tradition of Edo’s Castle Town” (
) at
Ibasen.

In Part 1,
Ibasen’s 14th-generation head Nobuo Yoshida and
’s 15th-generation head, Yoshida Hirofumi, will engage in a discussion titled “Carrying On the Noren.”

They will discuss what has been passed down for over 400 years since the company’s founding in 1590
and what they wish to pass on to future generations.

In Part 2, we will also hold a “Asagiri” fragrance-blending workshop featuring incense associated with Tokugawa Ieyasu
.
