What is Kamawanu?
It is a pattern that was popular in the Edo period (1603-1867), in which a picture of a sickle, a picture of a wheel, and the character "Nu" are superimposed, in reference to the word "Kamawanu.
It was later known as a pattern used by Kabuki actor Ichikawa Danjuro.
