As the Year of the Snake draws to a close (and the Year of the Horse arrives), the folding fan brand @ibasen1590 @ibasen.ukiyoe.fans has collaborated with French designer @jacques_averna to create 12 never before seen {{171134 }}}. Today we are pleased to introduce you to this collection.

Inspired by the famous animals that form the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac in Japan, this collection incorporates rounded, modern expressions and a touch of humor.

The brightly colored folding fan contrasts with the brand's other collections, such as the monthly twelve round fan, inspired by the Edo period ukiyoe prints by Toyokuni Utagawa.

In contrast to the softer colors and more graceful depictions of life in Toyokuni's works, Averna's animals burst into life and fill the screen as soon as folding fan is unfolded.

Ibasen includes many more gorgeous collections beyond the limited-time pop-up at the Paris boutique @dejimastore. Whether as a practical item to cool off with in the summer or as an accent for a glamorous interior, the collection is a must-have for any homeowner.

With a history spanning nearly 400 years and collaborations with the masters of Ukiyo-e, the folding fan brand proves that it continues to expand its lineup with innovative pieces.
