Please take a look at our collection of authentic Japanese folding fans and round fans.

Uchiwa Factory

Nihonbashi Horie Town (now known as Kofune Town) is said to have been home to many fan factories along the riverbank since the early days of the Edo period.

Edo-style uchiwa fans are made from a single piece of bamboo that has been split. For 400 years, our shop has been crafting a variety of uchiwa featuring paintings by Hiroshige and Yotokuni from the late Edo period.

The fan you hold today is made using the same techniques as back then and is entirely handmade.

Please be sure to enjoy the Edo-era craftsmanship and the refreshing coolness of Edo.
